Visit tips
Before you visit
Check out exhibitions and events.
Also plan ahead by reviewing the hours and admission, dining options, and frequently asked questions.
While you’re here
At the Admissions Desk, you can pick up tickets, a map, and a Brooklyn Museum Bingo Card!
Walk, don’t run. Ask kids to use their “inside” feet while moving around the Museum to keep themselves, others, and the artwork safe.
Look, don’t touch. Please don’t touch the art to make sure it isn’t damaged.
Say cheese! Only take photos and videos without flash. Selfie sticks are not permitted. Ask about photography restrictions for special exhibitions.
Strollers, with the exception of oversize and jogging strollers, are permitted in most galleries; ask a Public Safety Officer for specific gallery access.
Ask children open-ended questions about the art, such as “What’s happening here?” or “What do you think will happen next?”
Read the label aloud. Labels usually include the artwork’s title, artist’s name, materials used, and helpful information from the curator.
Security staff make sure the artwork and visitors are safe. Please be respectful if they ask you or your children to move back from the artwork.
Take a break at the Café or visit the Museum Shop.
