The Brooklyn Museum Announces Public Programs in August for Visitors of All Ages

The Brooklyn Museum announces its lineup of August programming, including a First Saturday celebrating the Caribbean diaspora, two new Museum on Wheels stops, and a Back-to-School Night exploring the intersection of art and sports. Additional programs and special events amplify the Museum’s exhibitions and collections, serve the surrounding community, and support learning through the visual arts.
Museum Members enjoy complimentary or discounted tickets and early access to public programs.

Ignite your night with music, film, poetry, and comedy at August’s First Saturday. Celebrate the brilliance of artists from the Caribbean diaspora in the lead-up to Brooklyn’s West Indian Day Parade.
Brooklyn Pop-Up Market

Free and open to the public.
Stop by our market to shop one-of-a-kind, handmade items from local artisans. This weekly event features more than 30 vendors offering artwork, jewelry, fashion, home and apothecary goods, and more.
Outdoor Art-Making with BkM Teens
Wednesday, August 6, 3:30–5:30 pm

Free and open to the public. Supplies are limited; first come, first served. Rain location: Education Center, 1st Floor.
Drop by our outdoor plaza this summer to join our teen Museum Apprentices in an art-making activity. Each project will be inspired by works in the collection. Bring the whole family to express your creativity.
Summer Jazz: Ghanniyya Green

Back-to-School Night: The Art in Sports
