Workshop: Art-Making in the Adult Literacy Classroom

Friday, June 27, 11 am–1 pm

How can creating art help adult literacy students reach their reading and writing goals? In this workshop, explore ways that students can use art-making to tell complex stories about history and themselves. Discuss a work in the American Art galleries and learn an art-making technique that you can bring back to the classroom.

Check out our May workshop on discussing and writing about art to support literacy.

Free; registration is required. You will receive a secure Zoom link by email. For accessibility accommodations, contact Lizelena Iglesias at lizelenai@lacnyc.org. Offered in partnership with the Literacy Assistance Center.
