Curator-Led Member Tour: Monet and Venice

Wednesday, October 22, 6–7:30 pm

Members: Step into Claude Monet’s vision of Venice, a city he once deemed “too beautiful to be painted.” Senior Curator of European Art Lisa Small navigates us through Monet and Venice and the artist’s depictions of the city hauntingly devoid of human presence, capturing the interplay of architecture with color and light. The exhibition is the first to focus on Monet’s luminous Venetian paintings—a radiant yet underexplored chapter in his late career—since their debut in 1912.
