The Brooklyn Museum Announces Public Programs in September for Visitors of All Ages

The Brooklyn Museum announces its lineup of September programming, including the tenth annual dapperQ fashion show, three new Museum on Wheels stops, and an Art History Happy Hour celebrating Red Grooms, Mimi Gross, and The Ruckus Construction Co.: Excerpts from “Ruckus Manhattan.” Additional programs and special events amplify the Museum’s exhibitions and collections, serve the surrounding community, and support learning through the visual arts.

Museum Members enjoy complimentary or discounted tickets and early access to public programs.

Museum on Wheels: Bed-Stuy

Free and open to the public. Space is limited for all art-making activities; first come, first served.

Join us for a block party celebrating environmentalist Hattie Carthan, founder of the Magnolia Tree Earth Center in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn! All ages are welcome to enjoy art-making, games, music, and tasty giveaways from Saint Michel Café and Bakery, Island Pops, and Brooklyn Tea.

dapperQ Presents Ten

Thursday, September 11, 6–10 pm

Tickets are $20.

Celebrate a decade of New York Fashion Week’s largest LGBTQIA+ fashion show, presented by queer style platform dapperQ. Kick off the night with a happy hour hosted by Henrietta Hudson, New York City’s longest-standing brick-and-mortar lesbian bar, and shop featured and local designers before the runway showcase. The presentation includes new designs by ALEGRÍA, BoiPKG, DYKEMINT, Zoe Grinfeld, Hesta, Soid Studios New York by José González, and Transguy Supply

Museum on Wheels: Brownsville

Brooklyn Pop-Up Market

Stop by our market to shop one-of-a-kind, handmade items from local artisans. This weekly event features more than 30 vendors offering artwork, jewelry, fashion, home and apothecary goods, and more.

Art History Happy Hour: Ruckus Manhattan

Tickets are $30 and include one specialty drink and after-hours admission to the exhibition.

Drop-In Workshops: Life at Sea

Take a deep dive into Oliver Jeffers: Life at Sea and help expand this underwater world. During these drop-in workshops, bring the family to create colorful creatures and structures, from coral to 3D fish, to add to Life at Sea.
