The Brooklyn Museum Presents the Nineteenth Annual Brooklyn Children’s Book Fair on November 9

Hosted in the Museum’s Beaux-Arts Court, the Brooklyn Children’s Book Fair features nearly 50 Brooklyn-based authors and illustrators in an afternoon of presentations and children’s activities.

The Brooklyn Museum is pleased to announce the Nineteenth Annual Brooklyn Children’s Book Fair on Sunday, November 9, from 11 am to 3:30 pm. This year’s event brings together nearly 50 Brooklyn authors and illustrators to share their latest works.

Free with Museum admission, the fair features story books, picture books, chapter books, and graphic novels—fiction and nonfiction—for kids from preschoolers to middle schoolers. Readers can explore topics as diverse as the prince of stars to the keeper of stories, to the queen of Ocean Parkway. Throughout the day, children can meet authors and illustrators, listen to readings and watch artists sketch, get books signed, and participate in book-related art projects. Additionally, visitors can take a dip in the ocean by visiting Oliver Jeffers: Life at Sea, an interactive installation inspired by one of Jeffers’s beloved children’s books.

Participants include Sara Holly Ackerman, Selina Alko, Kristen Balouch, Artie Bennett, Galia Bernstein, Keith Brown, Matthew Burgess, Patti Calkosz, Arlène Elizabeth Casimir, Sylvia Chen, Nina Crews, Andrea D’Aquino, Liana Finck, Kate Fodor, John Patrick Green, Janelle Harper, Corey Ann Haydu, Kate Hosford, Louise Hung, Melissa Iwai, Qef Johnson, Cheryl Klein, Caron Levis, Jenny Liao, The Macaroons (Shawn Fogel, Dan Saks, and Dave Schneider), Sydra Mallery, Kate Milford, Goldy Moldavsky, Sarah Moon, Ariful Mowla, Cameron Roberson, Robin Rosenthal, Stephen Savage, Lauren Semmer, Aimee Sicuro, Christopher Silas Neal, Sarvenaz Tash, Laura Terry, Lisa Tolin, Michele Wong McSween, James Yang, M.O.
